The September long weekend anniversary party has now been extended into a surprise 65th birthday party for Auntie Kathy as well!!!!

And Debbie (mom's cousin) from Puerto Vallarta will be stopping by on her way home.

(NOTE: THIS IS WHAT WE WILL BE TELLING THEM SO THAT WE CAN GET THEM DOWN TO THE CAMPSITE... WE ARE NOT ACTUALLY DOING A BIRTHDAY PARTY....AND DEBBIE PROBABLY WONT BE COMING.....)

Other answers to some questions people have asked me:

- yes it will be BYOB.

- There may be a meat being cooked for the sunday night potluck because we may have access to some turkey's. If not, we will be relying on whatever meat may be in some of the dishes that people are bringing. (so probably bring a meat dish anyways if that's what you were planning). Any fishermen out there?? It's Salmon Season!!! I think I may be able to get my hands on one or two salmon...but not sure yet.

- There will be lots of games out there (bocce, horse shoes, etc.) There is also a bow and arrow target shooting area if anyone has a real bow. And we will be playing lots of games I have put together, as well.

- Peggy Creek, one of mom's best friends, has volunteered to take care of the cake arrangements and she will be bringing that.

- If anyone has fruit tree's..... We would love to find a bunch of different fruits to have around for breakfast and whenever. I think I may be able to get ab unch of plums from the station, if no one picks all of them.

- We will be looking for stories!!!! Try to dig back in your memories and find some good ones involving Karen and or Fred.

Still waiting to hear from some people and whether they are coming or not....

And to let everyone know, we have decided to go with the painting and it looks like we are able to get it. We will be getting it unframed because mom and dad didn't really care for the frame that it was in and it is cheaper that way anyways. If there is any extra $ then we will be giving it to them to put towards a frame.
So it looks like it will be $25 per person (adults) or $40 per family. (yes, you can donate more if you wish. As some people have been asking.)

We will also have a basket set up for cards, and a guest book for you to sign. HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL NEXT WEEKEND!!!!!! Most people will be starting to show up on Friday. (anytime)

Hello everyone..

see info about painting under 'gifts' below:

Well the planning is going well so far... Got a good plan down and now it is just a matter of getting a hold of everyone... so if there is anyone you know that you think may want to come... PLEASE pass on the word or a copy of the invite (as I don't know all of these 'older' people that my parents are long time friends with :)

GIFTS: I am getting a lot of "What should we get them?" from people, so I am just waiting to hear back from Auntie Lucille on a painting and then the plan might be to just have every one (adults) throw in an extra $10-15 and get them this really awesome painting that they really want. They wanted to and almost bought it last fall. That is what Auntie Guylaine and Uncle Ron got last year for their 25th too... People went in on a painting that they have always wanted and they loved it. So when I find out if it is still there and exactly how much it is, I will let everyone know. I already have some people interested in going with this plan because then they don't have to worry about finding something from themselves that Karen and Fred may not use or need, and it will keep everyones costs down.

Well hope all is well and look forward to seeing you all in Sept.
DONT FORGET TO RSVP BY AUG.15th (IF POSSIBLE).

SHHHH!!! It's a SURPRISE!!!!!!

SURPRISE 25th Anniversary Party/ Camp out.....September Long weekend (Sept.2-5, 2005) For Karen and Fred

Hello, and hope everyone is well. It has FINALLY been confirmed that I can get the September long weekend off for mom at work (behind her back) as she has been having a really hard time getting time off lately and they only gave her the weekend of her actual anniversary( Oct.4), when she asked for time off.

So we will be planning a camp out for the long weekend in September and it will totally take them by surprise. Especially seeing she thinks she is working that whole weekend.

DATES: September 2-5th, 2005 (so sorry about the short notice...)

WHERE: Ivan and Judy Bourelle's Campsite in Silver Creek near Salmon Arm (where great Grandmas 90th birthday festivities were held)

CAMPING: Bring your tents, motor homes, trailers... or just your self.... There is a huge camping area, all grass in the tree's, right on the river. Wonderful fire pit area with tables set up, and even a little cook house/kitchen area. Camping is free, but with a huge thanks to Ivan and Judy for letting us host it there.

MEALS: Most people will be showing up on Friday and leaving Sunday or Monday. There will be a Group Breakfast on Saturday morning and a Group Dinner Saturday night followed by dessert/cake of course (these two meals will be cooked and supplied). I was thinking that Sunday evening we could do a Potluck/ BBQ where everyone would contribute something (possibly have a big roast or pig or something going on the Barbie....)

COST: For the meals on Saturday, I would like to do something along the lines of what was done for Ron and Guylaines 25th anniversary. Each adult contributes $10 and that covers the cost of food for the two meals and then if there is anything left over, I will put it towards putting an album together for them.

ALBUM: I need everyone to go back into their photo albums and pick out some photos that remind you of special times you have had with the two of them or each of them individually. I then ask that you mount them in some way to an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of (acid free) paper and bring it with you to the party. The pages can be done anyway you want with anything on them (poems, memorabilia, photos, etc.) and in the end the album will be a scrapbook of memories from everyone that they can look back on. I will put together the album with everyone's pages and then it will be presented to them on Saturday. I ask that each family/couple do one page minimum, and of course more if you want to.

THE PLAN TO KEEP IT A SURPRISE: I was talking with Auntie Judy and she says that mom's cousin Debbie from Peurto Vallarta brought her kids up this last weekend to spend the summer with their grandma. Mom and dad know about this and are going to be taking the boy's fishing or camping or something as well this summer. Debbie will be coming back to pick up the boy's somewhere around the end of August. The plan is to tell mom and dad (Karen and Fred) that Debbie is going to get everyone out to the campsite before she leaves and have a small camp out. Then when they show up, they will kinda be confused and realize it will be for their anniversary. We don't know if Debbie is going to be around at this time for sure yet, but we are going to get her to tell them that she will be because they totally wont suspect anything.

So that is the round about idea for the weekend... I have just put together all of this in the last day or two, so if there are any changes or problems to be ironed out then hopefully they will be soon and I will get a hold of everyone to let them know.

If you would like to post anything on here, whether it be questions or suggestions, email me with your email address and I will add you to the list that allows you access.

Welcome Everyone

Hey, hope everyone is doing fine and are all healthy. I put together this page so that we all have an easier means of staying in touch with each other.
I have one that is used between my friends and I and it is awesome!! It is so great for planning things or just saying hello. If you would like, check it out to get the overall jist of how this one will work. It is called "Friendship Orb" and is listed in the links section along the right hand side of this page.

One of the main reasons I thought I would start this one now is... As you all know, it is mom and dad's 25th coming up in October and I need to start planning.... I will talk a little more about that below..soon. In the mean time... I HAVE NOT invited Mom and Dad to this site until everything is over and past involving their party... (ERIK- If you are looking at this page DO NOT let Mom or Dad see it!!!)

So hope you all enjoy it and I will post some more stuff very soon.
Here is my email if you have any problems: medicgirl@gmail.com
